Demo and Brother Pete When Boys

Stathis Family History

Never were their two brothers so close through a whole life, from beginning, literally to the end. Perhaps there are many equal to these two in that regard, but none more for their could be no more life-time bond.

Much could be said of this, if all were known; lacking much of what is known, much can be inferred of this bond through two following stories. Just prior, it must be noted that they did have a half-brother, John, born of their father's first wife, the latter lost, along with a little daughter, to the Spanish influenza of around 1917. John was 11 years senior to Demo and 13 years elder to Pete.

Pete had settled in Florida, Demo in Syracuse. After all THE TEN were born, and the eldest of these were at college, there was some serious discussion in which Demo was pressing to resettle in Florida, so encouraged over years by his brother, and for the paternal side of the family to be together there. Of course, Maria would have nothing of it, it was indeed a long-shot, as with all her family in Syracuse and the HOME in which she brought into the world all her children; and there thus was a certain 'surrender' that these brothers would be close brothers, from afar. They called one another very often.

Timothy recounts his Father's last days in regards to Uncle Pete: [Not Yet Written]
